My X account has been recovered

The X account @virtualbacon is back under my control.

It was compromised at approximately 6:40 PM ET on 21 September 2026 and recovered on 23 September 2026. I am posting from it again.

I said I would confirm here when it was resolved, so this is that confirmation.

What happened, briefly

I lost control of the account on the evening of 21 September 2026.
A post promoting a crypto token was published from it that evening. I did not write it. If you acted on it, that was not me asking.
Direct messages sent from the account during that window were not from me.
The account has been secured and recovered with X support.

I will never ask you to connect a wallet, never ask for a seed phrase, and never DM you first.
This page stays up as the one place to check that is not a social account.
